Periwinkle Gifts

Periwinkle Gifts is a retail shop in Chevy Chase DC specializing in charming, affordable gift merchandise, holiday decorations, artisanal chocolates, candy and specialty food products.

The shop is a wide open sun filled space with bleached floors and shelves brimming with products from around the world including candles, children’s toys and novelties, frames, pottery, journals, boxed notes, greeting cards and gift wrap … in addition to fresh chocolates, bonbons, and packaged products both sweet and savory.

Periwinkle opened in 1999, on Livingston Street in Chevy Chase DC. Most of the businesses which comprise the neighborhood are independently owned and operated, and there is a small town feel in the daily flow of foot traffic.

When I chose this location it reminded me of the New York neighborhood I grew up in, where shopping in charming boutiques and small business was a way of life. I have tried to bring this experience to Periwinkle.

Every day when my staff and I open the door we feel like we are about to take part in a unique experience. The shelves are brimming with appealing merchandise and we are ready to assist our customers in finding just the right gift for any occasion.
